My Dreams!

In 2017 a younger me found herself in New Orleans while working with a nonprofit (Community Works) through Americorps. In what was an 11 month job that lasted 7 years, I solidified my love for the city – and the creativity and community it contains.
In addition to my extensive service industry experience, I honed my skills of communication, attention to detail and partnership building to focus on event management and production.
Each interaction over the years strengthening my community, networking with outstanding non-profits, amazing musicians, artists, and creative people all skills and trades.
New Orleans has shown me that my dreams are both bigger than I could have imagined and more obtainable than my fears may let me believe. My dream now is to help others celebrate their moments while rooting in the community that makes this city so great.
A Dreamer and a Doer!
I’d like to think my whole life was leading to this dream. Each role I’ve played in the ‘story of me’ has prepared me to not only execute great events, but to do so with intention and purpose. While double majoring in Psychology and Sociology at Luther College in Decorah, IA I began my foundational learning of people and the world we live in, and expanded my view of empathy, community and culture.
My time with Community Works transformed these concepts into action – working with teaching artists and culture bearers, building partnerships, compiling social media and newsletter creation to help tell the program’s story. My joy was brightest when bringing our community together for events, including culminating showcases for families, professional development workshops with staff, fundraisers and more.
Following this joy led me to pursue an Event Management role at Zony Mash Beer Project. It’s here I found my groove working with almost any type of event you could think of – from birthdays and art markets to concerts, dance parties, Bar(t) Mitzvahs, and more. Always asking myself – how do we continue to make this a space for the community?
While I dabbled in the wedding industry, continuing to make connections and expand upon my experiences, I knew my priorities of community and collaboration had not changed.

Through every spark of joy, my dreams were rooting, and thus the beginning of Dream Events!

I’ve also continued to stay connected with my community through dancing with the Sassyracs (Mardi Gras Dance Krewe) and writing with ANTIGRAVITY Magazine, vowing to never shed my social-butterfly wings – always connecting with and celebrating the joys of New Orleans.
